Marqués de Cáceres are situated in the heart of the well known region of Rioja. It was founded in the late 1960's by Enrique Forner who had spent many years in Bordeaux as well as other wine regions in France and around the world. He decided to return to his homeland and to develope wines to a specific style. He started by purchasing grapes grown by small holders in the Rioja Alta which is known for its fine wines.
The grapes grown are Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano for the reds and roses whilst the whites are made from Viura.
The reds are of the following qualities, Crianza, Reserva and Grand Reserva. The top wine is Gaudium.
