Made by Giles Webb in his vineyards in Helshoote this wine is a classic example of well made Merlot. The vines were planted in 1988 and are now approaching their best. The grapes were hand picked and the resultant wine matured in French Oak for 20 months. This wine is full flavoured, extremely concentrated. It has fantastic grape flavours with smoke, dark chocolate and cigar tobacco. It is extremely long with a finish which is all embracing. It will drink now but needs two hours to breathe. Ideally it should be laid down until 2011 plus.
